My Miami Sephora Haul

February 24, 2016

Hi loves! So I went to Miami for a couple of days this month, super happy to see my family and friends, and I was more then ready to get some shopping done! I had a long list for Sephora, that I had to edit otherwise my husband would’ve not been a happy camper haha! There where a few things I had to get, like the Laura Mercier Secret brightening powder, which I have been using and its really nice, I’m really loving it! I also got the First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 eye cream, the verdict is still out for that one since it has only been a couple of days using it but it does feels nice and not heavy to wear under makeup at all. I purchased the latest HD concealer from Makeup Forever and I love it! Is not as hydrating as the Nars concealer, that is my holy grail {see blog post here about it}, but it does cover the under eye dark circles amazingly! I got a super cute nail polish color from the Sephora line named Trilling, it’s a must have, perfect white-grayish color, give it a try if you can.

I got a 100 points reward right away because, I didn’t want to save them until next time, and I picked the pink gel coat for the nails that I had always wanted to try, so perfect timing. I got my Sephora Birthday present and this year is a set from Fresh {Face cleanser and Rose mask, that I already tried and it left my skin super soft and nice}  so quite happy about that too! At Heathrow airport before heading to Miami, I got a few duty free items, that honestly next time I will get more stuff! They had everything there! There was a Jo Malone store where I purchased my fave scent from them, English Pear and Freesia and also I got the Lip maximizer from Dior… What should I get next? My list is starting for my next trip to Sephora! P.S. Stay tune for my pharmacy makeup haul next 😉

Until next time!

Paola

Monaco On a Budget. The Food

August 11, 2015

#MonacoDV

Lets be honest, the French Riviera is not know for being a budget friendly destination, and Monaco is definitely not an exception. But it’s a beautiful little country and a must stop if you go to the south of France! I had the opportunity to live in the area while doing my master’s degree and it was fantastic, not going to lie, quite hard to do a lot of fun stuff on a budget but we managed, I think!! And I wanted to give you some tips of places to eat and things to see that are either on a budget or free, because believe it or not they do exist! Lets start talking about the options for food in this post, spending 100 euros in a dinner is easy, really easy, but there are options of restaurants to go where you don’t have too, or places to get food that going out of budget won’t be a problem during your visit to Monaco.

Tip 1. Happy Hour!! It never fails!! I Google a lot when I got there to find places to go for happy hour, but I wasn’t finding anything, It was after being in school and walking around that I found quite a few, but my Favorites are Brasserie de Monaco, Stars n’Bars Star Deck, Jacks, and Son of a Bun {which was my hubby favorite burger in town!} Happy hour start from 5 or 6 pm to 8 or 9 pm, half price drinks and half price food or happy hour menu its perfect!

Tip 2. You have to go to area of the Casino de Monte Carlo and stop by for a coffee at the Cafe De Paris, and yes its pricey, so go for a coffee or cappuccino, It’s still more than a Starbucks or your regular priced coffee in a bakery but you get to sit down in the cute tables and people watch with the view of the Casino de Monte Carlo and the Hotel de Paris. During the summer Morelli’s the gelato shop opens at the Cafe de Paris and its so yummy, and you can always go sit at the park in front to the shops or walk around Monte Carlo.

Tip 3. Go to the local bakeries and/or the supermarket and get food there, Carrefour, Casino and Marche U are your supermarket options in Monaco and you can get ready made sandwiches, pizza, and in Carrefour they had this delicious potatoes with truffle oil, that I’m sure my classmates know what I’m talking about! My fave hahaha!

Let me know if you have any questions about the area, I would more than happy share with you what I know and if you want to go for a fancy lunch or dinner the options are endless and that would require a longer post haha! Until next time!

Paola

Tip 1.El Happy Hour {Hora Feliz} nunca falla!!

Paola

Swimsuit Trends For 2015

August 4, 2015

Lets grab this last month of summer with style, or if you live in a tropical city it’s a whole year lifestyle, swimsuits trends have been fabulous this year. I used to think one piece swimsuits was old fashion, but after seeing all the options I think I like them even more than bikinis now! They are so versatile, you can put some cute pants or skirt and you are ready for lunch or dinner at the beach or even with light top and serves as undergarment, the options are endless. I love this black mesh panel swimsuit from Asos, so stylish and yet so basic! For me Mara Hoffman is a must for the beach, I love the patterns, the boho style, everything this Mara Hoffman bandeau cutout one piece swimsuit has screams beach for me.

I had to add this super cute two piece from Acacia, a brand that I have been following up for a while but still haven’t got a swimsuit from, but the Acacia Panama Bikini top and bottom are my favorites off all time. I had to add this River Island green palm swimsuit, think with a long black flowy skirt {or pants} and a statement gold necklace and cuff? Fabulous!! If I’m going to go for a bikini, I like to get one basic color like this black bikini from Marysia Swim {top and bottom} and some pieces that I can mix match with it like this multicolor one from Kiini Ro {top and bottom}, these two bikini have been super trendy this summer and can be perfect basics to buy pieces around them! Are you liking the swimsuit trends this year? until next time…

Love,

Paola.

Paola.
